2ND ALARM ON MARPLE RD

in

On 2/8/13 during Winter Storm Nemo, Arlington was dispatched to a reported house fire on Marple Rd. While units were in route 911 reported they were taking several calls for an explosion and fire at that location. 32-9 called on the scene with a working fire and a person burned. Firefighters deployed lines quickly and attempted an interior attack, but were pulled out because of heavy fire. Soon after crews were pulled out, the first floor collapsed. 32-9 was notified that there was a gas leak in several structures surrounding the location, and Central Hudson was called to the scene. Neighboring residences were evacuated by Fire and Police personnel due to high readings of natural gas. Arlington and mutual aid departments operated into the early morning hours of 2/9/13 in near blizzard conditions and freezing temperatures. (GROUP 2)
