About Us

The Arlington Professional Firefighters Association was formed in 1974 with 21 original members, and was chartered as Local 2393 by the International Association of Firefighters.

Original Arlington PFFANow, 35 years later, the Arlington Professional Firefighters Association is 72 strong, and its members are still dedicated to the finest service to our community. We are continually working to provide the best in Fire, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention, Investigation and Rescue Services. The Association and its members are also involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Cancer Society Heart Walk and the Relay for Life, as well as the programs; Adopt-a-Highway, Toys for Tots, The Arlington Car Seat, and Firefighters of Hope. We are also supporters of local sports teams.

In addition to our charitable activities, Arlington Professional Firefighters Association works actively with the Arlington Board of Fire Commissioners to develop programs to better serve the emergency services needs of the residents, businesses, and visitors to the Arlington Fire District. We continue to work with the district on important training, response, district manning initiatives and safety and health issues.

The Arlington Fire District is staffed with Firefighters and Paramedics of the Arlington Professional Firefighters Association, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to serve our neighbors, friends, and families here in the Town of Poughkeepsie. We will continue to make our community a better and safer place to work and live.
