2 RESCUED IN HOUSE FIRE ON SALT POINT TURNPIKE (GROUP 3)

Arlington was dispatched for a structure fire (fire on a porch) on 3/30/12 with a report of occupants trapped. Upon arrival, personnel were presented with a working fire in a 3 family wood frame house with occupants trapped in the rear of ...the second floor. Arlington firefighters, utilizing a ground ladder, rescued the two occupants via the second floor windows located at the rear of the structure. Town of Poughkeepsie Police and a civilian passerby also assisted the FD with rescue operations. In addition, two dogs and other small animals were also rescued by interior crews.

The two rescued occupants were transported to SFH by Mobile Life for smoke related injuries. One patient was treated and released, the other was transferred to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.
Mutual Aid was provided by the City of Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley and Roosevelt Fire Departments. (Group 3)
